The Mindfield eSense App turns your iPhone and iPad, together with the eSense Biofeedback sensors, into a comprehensive solution for stress measurement, relaxation training and self-awareness - in daily life, in training and coaching settings, and in research.

**What is Biofeedback?**

Biofeedback makes unconscious body signals such as skin conductance, skin temperature, pulse, breathing or muscle tension visible in real time. With targeted training you learn to influence these signals consciously - a scientifically well-documented approach for stress reduction and overall wellbeing.

**Five sensors for precise biofeedback:**

1. **eSense Skin Response**: measures skin conductance (EDA, GSR) as a direct stress indicator.
2. **eSense Temperature**: captures skin temperature for effective hand-warming training.
3. **eSense Pulse**: Bluetooth chest strap for accurate heart rate and heart rate variability (HRV) measurement.
4. **eSense Respiration**: breathing-belt add-on for the eSense Skin Response - captures breathing rate, depth and pattern.
5. **eSense Muscle**: measures muscle activity (EMG) for targeted relaxation and activation training.

This update focuses on procedures.

- Procedures: modules that contain formatted text, for example with different text styles, could appear as white tiles in the Procedure editor. Their content was then neither visible nor editable. They now show up in full again.
- Philips Hue in procedures: procedures need a slightly different connection to the lamps than Open Training. We reworked how the app connects to the Hue lamps in a procedure and how it reconnects automatically if the connection drops. Procedures with Hue lamps that were shared with another user now also work for the recipient.
- “Export database” in the archive works again.
- We tested these changes with procedures from practice, including tones, images and Hue lamps as breath pacer.

- NEW: Automatic restart of a measurement. In the sensor settings, right below Session length, you can now switch on an automatic restart. When the timer stops the measurement, it starts again on its own, up to five times in a row. Every run is stored as its own recording, and the app shows you in advance how long the whole training will take with the length and the number of parts you selected.
- NEW: What is new, directly in the app. After an update the app now shows you what we added and what we fixed. The notice can be switched off. The app also lets you know when a newer version is available in the App Store.
- eSense Skin Response: revised counting of spontaneous fluctuations. A rise from a local minimum to the following maximum now counts as an SCR when it reaches at least 0.02 µS within 1 to 20 seconds. That is the established criterion in psychophysiology, and it makes the SCR rate largely independent of how quiet the signal is. Please note that SCR values from recordings made before this update cannot be compared one to one with newer ones. We explain the background at help.mindfield.de/en.
- Procedures: fixed several issues with modules that use your own images, videos or audio files, and with procedures built from many modules.
- Updated technical basis for current iOS versions.

- USB audio adapters now work reliably. Whether you use an original Apple or a third-party USB-C or Lightning adapter, your eSense is detected correctly - no matter which option you choose in the audio popup. For the best signal quality we still recommend original Apple adapters.
- Your settings are now remembered. Breath pacer, video, music and other options are saved per sensor, and your eSense Pulse connection is kept in Open Training and Procedures. Settings are stored per account - and also when you use the app without an account.
- Improved performance and stability under the hood.

This release focuses entirely on bug fixes and stability. No new features were added – instead, we concentrated on issues reported to us by our users.

Fixed in this version:

Longer eSense Pulse sessions are now saved correctly. Previously, extended recordings could in some cases be stored incompletely in the archive. This has been fixed, so even long training sessions are now reliably preserved.

The Philips Hue Bridge is detected reliably again. The connection to the Hue Bridge now works as expected, so light-based biofeedback can be used without further issues.

Improved signal display for all eSense sensors. The way measurement signals are displayed has been reworked across all eSense sensors and is now clearer and more consistent.

We recommend that all users update to this version.

- Archive: reliable ZIP export, clearer sort toggle and more control over cloud sync (no forced sync after login).
- Many further refinements: tactile feedback, restored YouTube thumbnails, fixed Help links, refreshed Shop & Plans, login language selection and UI polish across headers, modals and notch handling.

Enyou this new update! 6.7.7 01/31/2024 We fixed the Philips Hue implementation in the eSense App for all eSense sensors. The connection to the Hue bridge was not working properly after a Hue bridge firmware update. Now it is working fine again. You need the Hue bridge to use Hue bulbs with the eSense App. Make sure you have setup the Hue bridge properly and all your bulbs in the Philips Hue app, before you can use them in the eSense app. 6.6.9 12/17/2023
